PROCESSED: a film workshop

People always ask me, "WHY FILM? Why choose to shoot something that is old when digital cameras today have advanced so much?" There is only one answer I ever have for them... FILM HAS SOUL. It is like nothing I have ever gotten from a digital camera. The way shooting film makes me slow down and be more in the moment has made me a better photographer. And I wouldn't trade it for the world.

What: PROCESSED: a film workshop, is a film bootcamp of sorts. It is a one day intensive workshop on the hows and whys of shooting film and incorporating it into your workflow (be it a full film transfer or becoming a hybrid shooter).

Who can attend: This is a FILM 101-401 kind of workshop. It is designed for the digital photographer that wants to explore the film medium as well as the film photographer that wants to up their game. Basic knowledge of shooting on manual is required. A film camera (or access to one) is important, but you need not be familiar with it or have even shot film before.

The details:

* We will focus on the hows and whys of technical shooting with film. We will go over cameras formats, film stocks, metering, light sources (natural and artificial) and all the good stuff that you need to know to ACTUALLY shoot film with success.

*In the afternoon we will be devoted to shooting a couple using all the techniques learned earlier. This is a simple styled shoot and you will be able to use these images for your portfolio immediately. Each person gets personal attention and time to shoot. We will talk about posing and working with REAL couples (not models) so that you can use these techniques with your clients.

*In the evening we will convene for dinner together. It is a time of fun and a time to ask me anything! Nothing formal here, but I am an open book!

COST: The cost for the workshop is $600 and is limited to 10 photographers. Lunch, snacks and dinner are provided. Travel & hotel are not included. A private FB group will be created to discuss lodging/transportation and for us to share info.

Extras: I love extras so here are a few I am happy to offer as part of the workshop:

* a headshot done by me to use for your business
* a portfolio review of your recent work
* a website critique
* a review and critique of your images from the workshop to help you grow!
* plenty of goodies from my various sponsors & prizes!
